Corsair can't help you with someone else's PSU. Thread moved to the non-Corsair area.

Have you done any testing to corroborate your theory?

i doubt your gpu is causing the problems, but the first thing i would do is swap out that psu for something i knew i could rely on. the one u have has very little info available on it which probly means its not that good.

OK, here are the things you should check in order from easiest to hardest.

1) Download Microsoft's Memory Diagnostic Tool, create a bootup CD, and test your RAM. I believe the old tool only tested up to 4GB, if it hasn't been updated, you may have to test your RAM sticks separately.

2) Check the PSU for two things:
a) Make sure you have enough Wattage to handle everything in your rig. You can use Newegg's wattage calculator for a general idea.
b) Check the PSU with a simple PSU Tester ($10 - $15 if you don't have one). Or see if a local shop will test it for you. It takes 30 seconds!

3) If you have a different video card, try that one.

4) Check to make sure your CPU cooler is making good contact with the CPU. I know! There is no real way of checking that without pulling it off and doing it again. Clean the CPU die and heatsink on the cooler with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol (no you cannot get this at a drugstore) and a lint-free cloth and re-apply thermal paste. You can use microfiber towels which are easily found these days. Don't use a regular cotton or terry-cloth towel.

5) If all these things have failed to resolve your problem, you're gonna have to start booting your system with a minimal of things connected to the MB. Start with just the CPU, HDD and RAM (1 stick), and add components as you are able to.

I hope this helps. Let us know!
