Now, I didn't appreciate how fast this was until I benched the SanDisk Micro. To be quite honest, I was at a complete loss to explain the incredible difference between the two units. But in the end, whether its quality control, an exceptional random sample versus a so-so one, superior technology or just plain luck, it boils down to the Corsair unit kicked the living crap out of the SanDisk. Not only does it get my full recommendation but it also gets a place on my keychain. Editors Choice Award

Another Worthy Mention: Corsair Flash Voyager The Corsair Flash Voyager has a few quirks that might just make it some ones number one flash drive. With its all rubber coating, it is virtually indestructible under a typical scenario. It also has the second fastest write speeds in this roundup. It’s just let down by average read speeds which were quite a lot slower than the top four read drive here, the Migo, Elite, Rally and David. Generally speaking, the overall performance was solid enough for this to be a shortlist contender, I for one am very fond of its styling and build quality – anyone who has a flash drive before will know how important this can be if you’re a bit heavy handed.

To Corsair: While I'm glad the drive ultimately lived through the testing and should survive most encounters with fate, I do hope that the design is improved in the future so that the non-removable endcap doesn't fly off so easily - either by threading the cap or increasing the surface area for the glue.
