not enough PCIe cables
Hello. Just received my new Corsair AX1200i this morning (couldn't resist the glowing reviews!), but can't use my Quad-Fire 4X7970 with it. Not enough PCIe cables. :(
I've read about an adaptor on OCN forums about that.
Who do I need to contact to get one?
Thank you.
And on your next high-end 1200w PSU, please put 8 X 6+2 PCIe cables like the other manufacturers are already doing. High-end 1200w PSU. More people then you think are using 4 GPUs. And your competitors are already supporting that configuration. :)
:)

You can contact the CS dept and tell them you would like to purchase the extra cables . I do not know for sure if they have them or not, but it's definitely worth a shot. As of right now there is nothing listed on the site as far as accessories or spare cables for the 1200i.. I'm sure they will have something fairly soon though.
BTW, Do you know what kind of "adapter " they are talking about? And are you sure it is a Corsair item or third party adapter?Something like this

If by chance you are over seas you can use SKYPE to call the toll free number and it wont cost you anything.

In another forum Corsair George admitted to making a mistake in not thinking that people were going to need the extra two cables. He said anyone who calls will get them shipped to them for free. Gotta love Corsair!

Yes, that's exactly what I was talking about.
Who/where do I need to call to get that ''adaptor for free''?
I did send PMs and e-mails to Corsair George, and never got any answers. :(

They do not have the adapters available from corsair. Those are third party items. However if you follow the previous post and contact CS I'm sure they will take care of you.

You can find the number on the main website page at the bottom under contact.
If you are overseas you caninstall SKYPE and use that to make the call for nothing.

I don't speak well in english, and would prefer not calling over the phone. Can't I just send an e-mail or send a PM to someone with my adress to get the adaptor?
English is my 3rd language. :(
Really annoying situation. Having to beg to get an adaptor for a 350$ PSU that should come with 4 GPUs support in the fist place. :(

If you would like to email them requesting the extra cables you can certainly do that. It would just be quicker and easier to call.
But the adapter you would have to buy somewhere else. That is NOT a Corsair item.

Fill out an RMA ticket for the PSU, but in the comments section explain the situation and that you would like the extra cables .
If that does not work, you may need to call CS.

Thank you Peanutz, just did what you said, and filled out an RMA ticket with explanations.
But I'm suprised that no one at Corsair is answering my PMs and e-mails. Corsair George and RAMguy are both totally silent and not answering any of my messages on the subject... :(
I'm suprised, because Corsair were so fast and nice when I had a dead AX1200 a couple of months ago.
I only buy Corsair PSUs because of that awesome customer services. I have over 25 Corsair PSUs (all under 750w) in the computers in my business for piece of mind, and using an AX1200 and AX850 at home in my computers. :(

Just came back from a long trip in the great white. No internet access there. Ouch. Sorry for the late answer. :)
Can't find my case #... :( But the answer was ''we will get those adaptors only in a couple of months, sorry''.
So I did ask if I had to send another messsage in a couple of months, or would I get one automatically when in stock... but got no answer... :(
