same here i did a check as well im getting around the same latency I have tried every usb port on my computer and i still get the high pitch tone when mic is active

Default Mic loopback might be a culprit

I was playing with the mic loopback slider for the corsair vengeance 1500 controls and noticed that it directly affects the level of the white background noise and other pitches that occur when trying to use applications that require the microphone.

It almost seems like if I could fully turn off the mic loopback it might solve the problem, but the best I can do is move it the very bottom and use the windows settings if I want mic loopback instead of the corsair ones.

Not sure if it is a driver or hardware issue but I am tempted to see if I can enchange my new pair to see if it helps since it isn't pleasant.

A further confirmation that the driver/hardware of the vengeance 1500 mic loopback feature causing the problem is that when I use a problem like Ventrilo with voice activation it activates permanently because of the feedback it is receiving nonstop from the mic loopback. Under the windows mic settings you can even visually see one bar of signal constantly when the microphone is in an active enviroment. If you can disable that feature it might save us all some grief and if it is hardware then I guess we'll be living with this for a long time.

Looks like that maybe the problem cause if u mute ur mic with the windows mic settings the noise stops unlike muting it with the dongle.

Sigh..

Just registered so that I can post this here...

Got the 1500 headset about 2 weeks ago... paid a pretty penny for it, wanted something to replace my Blue Snowball + Headphone combo because it was too uncomfortable for gaming...

I'm also getting the white noise problem, I can confirm that it only happens when the microphone is enabled. So having a program like Skype, Bandicam, etc. open, the headphones will produce a white noise in the background.

I also had it in my recordings but have been able to minimize it by enabling 'Low Frequency Protection' under Windows 7 Enhancements for Microphone.

Even when I go into the microphone settings under Windows 7, it says there is a recording even at idle. The input level has one bar filled always, which clearly points to white noise being produced (I am in a fairly quiet room, even when I type the bar doesn't move...).

Hopefully we can get a driver fix for this issue... but I am wondering if it is the way the thing is engineered... possibly wires not protected enough from interacting with each other inside the headset. Sad that I bought this as an impulse purchase... let the tech at the store recommend once to me.

There are different mic settings you can adjust. Check the preferences too for the application you are using to see if you can raise the volume.

Everyone else: I'm not ignoring any of you and still read the thread and all your comments. Unfortunately, I don't have anything to add at the moment.

So are there any updates on new drivers? The corsair drivers are also giving me buzzing sound, while the "standard" windows driver is fine. If no update is coming soon I guess I'll have to return these headphones.

i think i found a fix atleast i found something that works for me.
heres what i did: open control panel > hardware and sound > sound > open your headset properties in the playback tap go to the advanced tab and change the default format to (16 bit, 48000 Hz dvd quality) and save >then go to the recording tab and open your headsets microphone properties> and do the same. this worked for me i hope it works for you too, please let me know if this works for you or not.
