matiaspage
My computer is old but still working like a champ. I have a total of 4 sticks of Corsair model CM2X2048-8500C7. Totaling 8GB. Can someone help me by telling me the the correct settings for my system (motherboard, etc)? I've been reading but I get confused. I think I read that if it's more than one stick, the MHz is not 1066, but 800, etc. I built my computer from scratch, but I have no idea about timings and voltages and so on. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. you should download CPU-Z to see at what speed how your ram is running http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html The ram should run at 1066 even if its more than 1 stick. Your motherboard supports up to 16gb of ram at 1066 with out overclocking. If you want you can also post a pict of memory tab on CPU-z. If its not running at 1066 you might need to manually enter the ram values in bios. this are 7-7-7.20 2V 1066
matiaspage
Hello, pegotico. Thanks. I'm attaching three snapshots from CPU-Z. I see now that RAM is working at much lower frequencies. I will try to manually set it in the BIOS settings and let you know if your suggestion fixed the issue. Thanks again.
matiaspage
I just went to the BIOS settings and I see that the 7-7-7-20 settings are not possible according to the options I see. The DRAM voltage is separate from all that. I can set it to either 1.992 or 2.004. I chose 1.994. I set the FSB/DRAM Ratio to 1:2.00 which says: 1066:1066. The voltage and the FSB/DRAM Ratio are the only things I changed. The DRAM options are shown like this (with the selectable options). CAS Latency (CL): Auto, 3,4,5,6 tRCD: 3-15 from 3 to 15 DRAM clocks tRP: 3-15 tRAS: 9-23 I'm attaching two snapshots with these settings. It didn't change that much. Thanks.
