Adding a handle to the back of the 800D? (or some other way to lift it up?)

Has anyone considered adding a handle to the back panel, to aid in lifting the case? Is the back actually strong enough to mount a handle? I guess the best place would be towards the top.

Comments, anyone?

Do you go to LAN parties with an Obsidian 800D? You must have a strong back. I put wheels on mine just so I could roll it out for servicing the watercooling and filters.

To answer your question, it is a steel case and should hold up. Here is some I found but you could probably go down to your local hardware store and get some made for cabinets and just add fender washers.

Here is a mod but you would have to mount it somewhere else than the top middle because of the fans.

Good Luck and don't forget your lifting belt :)

No, I'm not a LAN party guy. But my system goes between the right edge of my desk and a file cabinet. There is about 12" spacing between the two pieces of furniture. And both pieces of furniture stick out about 26 ~ 28" from the wall. The system goes in that space and the front of the system is parallel to the front edges of the desk and file cabinet. Of course, my current system is not as deep as the 800D, so it might be a tight fit with the cables coming out the back of the unit.

The way my system goes in, I have to sort of lift it up or at least tilt it forward, before I can move it out. The ******* P180 doesn't have wheels, but my previous case did.

Strong, but not strong enough.

I know, and I'm probably going to do the same. Even with the wheels, I think a rear panel handle would help in lifting up the unit.

Thanks. I had no idea these sites existed. I like the handles from the first place more than from the second place. And of course, I mentioned mounting the handles on the rear panel because there is no room on the top panel. Also, I don't want to mar the appearance of this case with a top-mounted handle.
