Teejay187
Codename Thunderbolt This case mod has been going on since last september. I will post all the work from then till now and then keep this thread updated  I will start with my original parts list. As you will see Im not very good at following lists. Being impulsive is half the fun! Parts list HARDWARE Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth P67 CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz (4x4GB) GPU: Zotac GTX 680 Storage: 6x OCZ Agility 3 on a RocketRAID 2720SGL (Raid 5+0) PSU: Corsair AX750 WATERCOOLING I am thinking of running two loops here. Loop 1: Res-Pump-RAM-GTX680-Radiator-Res Parts: GPU BLOCK: EK GTX680 CSQ Nickel/Plexi RADIATOR: AquaComputer Airplex 240mm Aluminium (Loop 1 70%) RAM BLOCK: EK RAM COOLER CSQ Nickel/Plexi TANK/TOP: Koolance RP-401X2 (Chamber 1) PUMP: Laing DDC Loop 2: Res-Pump-CPU-VRM-Radiator-Res Parts: CPU BLOCK: EK Supremacy CSQ Nickel/Plexi RADIATOR: AquaComputer Airplex 240mm Aluminium (Loop 2 30%) VRM BLOCK: EK-MOSFET Sabertooth P67 Nickel TANK/TOP: Koolance RP-401X2 (Chamber 2) Case before start Got tired of excessive fan noise and slow hard drives so I wanted to start this build. I bought a C70 and I didnt want to remove the hardware from it, so I bought a second case to use for modding. Damn I love this case! http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_1.jpg
Teejay187
Disassembly, measuring and radiator mounting. Had to remove the 5.25" bay to get the radiator to fit. The case lost some of its rigidity, but that will be fixed later. The case is really easy to work with! http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_3.jpg After hand drilling out all the pop rivets, I tried to mount the rad with fans. Had to drill new holes for the bottom front fan. It takes up quite the amount of space! http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_5.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4.jpg Acrylic midpiece Been doing some work on an acrylic midpiece that I will use later in the build. Heatgun, bend, heatgun, bend, done! http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/009.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_39011.jpg Some of the paracord I will be using throughout this build. It glows in the dark! http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/015.jpg Mounting watercooling! Cutting the mounting clips off of the pumps to make them fit in the reservoir. Easy job with a dremel! The res looks so good! http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_3916.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_3918.jpg Mounted the 5.25" bay with some slight modifications. I was at a LAN-party so this had to cut it. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_3925.jpg A fine selection of water blocks! http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_3928.jpg Mounted the VRM and CPU blocks! can`t wat to get these up and running! Also ordered new RAM that fits my RAM-block. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_3959.jpg First test! No towels? No paper? No, thats because my Jimmies were already rustled. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_3962.jpg RAM arrived together with some coolant! First test after mounting! I liked the sleeving, but I am changing this for other colors later on. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_3968.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_3969.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_3973.jpg Mounted acrylic window! http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4082.jpg Tidying up the case. Lets see how long it lasts this time. :p: http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4085.jpg Benchmark of my 6 OCZ Agility 3 in RAID0. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/HDDperformance.png Mounting more radiator! Draining the loop. Look how discolored the tubing is after just one month! http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4169.jpg More draining. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4172.jpg AND KABOOM! This was a lot bigger than I expected. I was hungry to play games again so I ripped out everything needed to make it fit. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4174.jpg RISE-FM. Its good music for modding. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4175.jpg Mayhems Mayhem (or something) http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4179.jpg 5.25" bay must go :(: http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4180.jpg Tighter than a nuns :D: http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4183.jpg And there we go. Had to cut of half the locking mechanism on the 8-pin CPU power. Other than that, it went very easy. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4184.jpg CHAOS:cool: http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4192.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4193.jpg A little tidying again. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4214_zps7fc39ac3.jpg More mods! Im far from done! Two new backplates. Yes, Im adding a bro to my GTX680 :D: http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4218_zpse9bb00ef.jpg Carbon Fiber material. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4223_zps2dc23581.jpg And done! http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/148_zpsda8ac64a.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/155_zpsac051854.jpg I never knew I was cut out for plumbing :p: http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/129_zpscd56553d.jpg Bought some fans from MNPCtech. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4227_zps095aa553.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4229_zps3bce6280.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4235_zps576e2e33.jpg UV-LEDs pointed at the UV-reactive cooling http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4255_zps6da4b93a.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4260_zps1461b3db.jpg Had one extra jet fan laying around and I wanted to mount it. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4261_zps59200323.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4319_zps5b6520aa.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4320_zpsb9af01a8.jpg Got a 3D printer so I printed some holders for my SSD. Administrators Technobeard Posted February 17, 2013 Administrators Share Posted February 17, 2013 Nice work! I think that's the first time I've seen 3D printed objects used in a case mod. Which 3D printer do you have (or is it home made ala Ben Heck) ?
Teejay187
I use a Solidoodle 2 :) It is really awesome! I will be using a lot more parts now that my blue fluorescent filament has arrived :)

When I learn how to program it. This weekend I will sleeve the PSU and learn SPI libraries on the Arduino :D:

Teejay187
A little update with my latest printed parts. Teejay187
Motherboard is now in carbon :) How does the fittings look? Personally I love them. Im sure I could tow a car with them. Secure fit. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4370_zpsb89fcd3e.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4371_zpsa3cecfa8.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4377_zps236e5fcb.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x245/Teejay187/IMG_4393_zps7ecce579.jpg

Why did you drape the ATX PSU cables over the pipes? There's a grommet right next to them they could have gone through.
Teejay187
It is to be dealt with. I am currently sleeving a 1000W in gray, blue and white. It was just easier this way for now :)

Nerdface Killah
This is one of the craziest builds I've ever seen and I mean that in a good way. Wow, I'm impressed! Especially the use of the 3D printer!
