Hello everyone. I have 16 Gb (2x8) of Corsair Dominator, partnumber
CMD16GX3M2A1600C9. I want to buy 16 Gb (2x8) Corsair Vengenance Pro CMY16GX3M2A1600C9. According Memory Part Number Breakdown these almos identical except 3-d symbol of the name (which describes model). It is D for Dominator and Y for Vengenance Pro. All other characteristics are seems the same. What is the chance they will work together good? |

too many variables to even guess, its not supported however after a few hours of trial and error i got a pair of XMS and Dominators to play nice but thats DDR2. you have over a dozen combinations and swaps to try. if you have the time to kill you can play around and not really hurt anything. id boot off a live CD though in case you have several reboot/bsod problems. saves the OS :)
Good Luck!

Mixing two sets of memory is always a hit and miss..there's simply no guarantee if those two sets will play together nicely.
