Default Do macro keys have their own key stroke?

So to explain a bit more I am looking at binding the 18 macro keys to functions in Elite Dangerous, but I was wondering if the key has it's own command so the PC recognizes say G1 as G1 and and not as a binding combo for example "ctrl + shift + 1" as I don't want the key binds interfering and causing other things to happen in game as shift and ctrl are already used for other things for example.

Thank you in advance for any/all help.
