ct5010
Hi, I got a 300R a few months ago and I was really impressed of the good quality of this case, but the fans are a bit too noisy, especially the front one. Because I do not have any resistors etc. here, I cannot check the starting voltages of the fans in the 300R and I don't want to waste money on buying a 5V adapter but the fan doesn't spin up. So my question is: With which voltage the fans will spin up? 5V, 7V, 9V, 12V? Thanks!
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 12, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 12, 2012 I am sorry but you would have to check that with a fan controller but normally they will be 7-12 Volt fans. I will ask the Case PM for a fan spec but it may be easier to use the fan controller built into the MB and try and slow the fan down to minimize the noise.s
ct5010
Hi, thanks for the reply! But I have no fan controller here and I also cannot regulate the voltages whith my MB UEFI/Software and it doesn't lower the RPM low enough, just a little bit. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 13, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 13, 2012 The 120 MM Fan will run at 5-13.8 Volts and Max RPM is 1200 32.95 CFM at Max RPM, 1.68 Watts, 18 Dba Noise. The 140 MM Fan is 9-12 Volts, 1.68 Watts, .14 Amps 3.6 Watts, 1000 RPM +-200 RPM, 54 CFM
ct5010
Hi, thanks a lot for your help! I think I will just use the 120mm fan with a 5V adapter and get an AF140 for the front!
