Tony Neville Posted April 27, 2015 Share Posted April 27, 2015 Driver ver: 2.0.35 Windows 8.1 64-bit I purchased this headset two weeks ago and am regretting it. My question is does anyone with the same USB headset and the same driver version and the same windows version have decent mic audio? By decent I mean the mic volume is loud and clear at say 40% without humming or hissing. In my case 40% is barely audible and the further I adjust the volume towards 100% the louder the humming and hissing. It's as though the mic in this thing is the wrong part. Tony Neville Posted May 1, 2015 Author Share Posted May 1, 2015 The other PC is a dual boot PC with Win 8.1 Pro and Win 7 Ultimate. The mic is at the same level of pathetic under Win 8 pro but a little better in Win 7 Ultimate. Under the latter the mic isn't so rubbish that Microsoft's speech recognition software won't detect it. I'm hoping the fault lies with the drivers. If a driver can cause the ear peices to be too sensitive to volume adjustment, which they are, then maybe it can cause the mic to be too insensitive.
