Motherland
Can someone help to secure erase my drive? I was having issues with UEFI install on a maximus VI hero motherboard, during the initial windows 8 installation my computer was doing the normal restart about half way trough and then it got stuck on the boot screen. After this if I had the SSD conected to the MB I could not get past the IDE check (code A2 on MB), so I decided to clear the SSD from whatever is on it. I did quick format in windows, that didn't help, MB still gets stuck (if SSD is unplugged I can access BIOS, if SSD is connected I cant) So I figured a secure erase and fresh start might do the trick, but now i get this: http://i.imgur.com/0nBg1qs.png Any tips/ideas? Toasted
Have you tried a different version of the toolbox? Latest chipset drivers? Have you tried a different SATA port and cable?
Motherland
I don't see different versions of toolbox to download, only 1. Chipset driver I will look in to, I have a fairly old motherboard, Asus M2N SLI Deluxe. I should note that I have a Samsung SSD as my main drive and the software that they have has a similar issue, my SSD shows up as a unrecognized drive to do some of the maintenance stuff. Since my OS is on that one and everything works I try not to mess around with that drive anyway so that is ok. I used 2 cables so far, one old one new. Toasted
It might be the chipset being unsupported. But i'm not quite sure.
Yellowbeard
M2N is your issue. The Nvidia chipsets do not support AHCI and the toolbox will not work with it.
