Default H110 Platinum fans

I'm sure this has been asked before but anyway, I'm going to finish building my system tonight. I have a 500D se with the commander and an h110 plat. Obv the pump goes to the cpu header but what about the rad fans? There any preference to connect them to the leads coming from the pump or run to the commander's fan controller? Instinct says it doesn't matter but I figured I'd ask anyway.

I would connect them to the pump. That way they can be controlled based on the pump temperature whether iCUE is running or not.
