Monchie
I received a pair of XMS2 recently and when I added it to my existing pair (slots 1 & 3, then 2 & 4), the computer did not boot up and instead just hanged. After that, I didn’t attempt any tinkering anymore and just removed the second pair. The specs of each pair of modules are the following: Corsair XMS2 CM2X1024-6400 1.90v ver7.3 14713472 08340919 5-5-5-18 800MHz 1024MB XMS2-6400 Corsair XMS2 CM2X1024-6400 XMS6405v5.1 000986 07120721-0 5-5-5-12 800MHz 1024MB XMS2-6400 Is it an issue of compatibility? Is it a matter of BIOS setting? I would appreciate your kind advice please. Thank you..
Wired
It's never recommended different versions. Try dropping the speed down a notch (especially because you're maxing out the memory controller w/ 4 sticks).
