[ Buildlog ] Project "Narcisa" Corsair Air 540 Fully Modded

Hello everybody!!!

Since This is my 1st post here let me introduce myself to the community...

My name is George Pournaras (aka Jorj-P ) , I'm 32 and I'm from Greece...

I 've been into PCs generally from the age of 10 but as a hobby.

I started building watercooled PCs only 5 years ago and been modding pretty much everything i can get my hands on...

The Following Project is named "narcisa" after my girlfriens name who brought many ideas to the table and never complained about listening to me going on for hours talking about modding and watercooling...

I recently bought a second-hand Corsair Air 540 which was brutally cut in some places and was half painted white so I'm thinking of modding whatever i can to give it a more "classy" and "leathery" feel....

Hardware is kinda old compared to the beasts lurking in these forums but at least it gets my job done and offers me whatever i need...

CASE : Corsair Air 540

M/B : Asus Maximus IV Extreme B3

CPU : Intel Core i7 2600K

RAM : Corsair Dominator 4 x 2 GB 1866Mhz

VGA : EVGA Titan SC

OS Drive : OCZ VERTEX 3 120GB

Data Drive : Seagate Baracuda 1TB

PSU : Thermaltake Toughpower 1000W ( old but damn neverdying)

And now to the watercooling stuff :

VGA BLOCK : EK-FC Titan SE - Nickel + EK Titan Backplate

CPU BLOCK : EK Supremacy EVO Clean CSQ

RAM BLOCK : EK dominator x6 ( from old build)

PUMP : Alphacool VPP655 D5 variable speed pump

Pump Top : EK D5 top

360 Radiator : EK Coolstream PE 360 (front)

240 Radiator : Hardware Labs GTX 240 (top)

FANS: Enermax Cluster White led fans 120mm

Resercoir : Koolance tube reservoir 200mm (from old build)

Tubing : Primochill Clear Acrylic tubing 13/10mm + Primochill Primoflex LRT 13/10mm tubing fro the back of the case

Fittings : Primochil Rovolver White Acrylic tubing fittings + EK Angled fittings

Coolant : Mayhems Pastel Red

Cables : Icemodz Custom Cables In R.O.G colors

Had some work done over these days so here we go...

Case Completely stripped....

So i started working on some 1mm thick aluminum covers to "revamp" the case a bit...

Test fitted with the front EK coolstream PE just to get an idea of how things are looking...

Also made a Front rad and top rad cover. There is going to be cutouts on the cover surfaces for the rads and Custom "hand made" grills for the cutouts...

Test-fitted the front Rad cover without cut...

Since all the covers were made ( 90% finished) I decided to start making a reservoir base and cutout on the left front side of the 540...

1st off all cut the case...

And then cut the original 540 plastic cover a little bigger than the 5.25 slots size to accommodate the reservoir base behind it...

Rough cuts but they were perfected later ( sanded - filed)

Decided to make an aluminum cover for the plastic cover as to stylish it up a bit...Also dressed it up in white leather and drilled a new power switch hole...

Dressed up and ready with plexi window installed... Plastic and generally all case parts will get painted.... Thats just to testfit stuff...

I hope you people like it so far....

Many more need to be done.... hopefully case will get painted by monday and in the meantime I will start working on the leather work on covers....

Ok People...Final Update with finished Project photos...

The case came home from paint job yesterday and since i had all the covers and parts ready i decided to go on a modding marathon and complete it as fast as i could...

Took me 24 hours to assemble all the covers - parts - cable managment and loop filling plus leak test but it definately deserves it....

Starting of block placing...

Parts placed in case.... Sorry for not including some mid-procedure shots of work in progress but i use my phones camera ( poor me) and many of them didnt turn out that good tbh...

Fron aluminum cover dressed up in leather with power switch on and custom lace work...

Primochill acrylic tubing bended and in place.....

I cut a 2mm thick acrylic ROG logo and covered it with black and red vynil for the bottom cover...

And finally with all the wires and parts in place, loop filled and tested here are the final photos of project 'narcisa'...

I really hope you guys like it and I would really appreciate your opinions and suggestions on this.....
