recklesszero777
Will the Corsair AX Series Single Sleeved Modular Cable Set work on a Corsair AX1200i since Corsair technically considers the AX1200i an AXi power supply? As in these: http://www.moddiy.com/products/Corsair-AX-Series-Single-Sleeved-Modular-Cable-Set-%28Black%7B47%7DRed%7B47%7DWhite%29.html :confused::confused:
Nichrome
Hi, In my opinion it should work fine. The only difference between AX and AXi is that PSU with 'i' uses Corsair Link
Corsair Employee jonnyguru Posted April 1, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 1, 2015 Since that's not a Corsair product, it's hard to say what they actually work with. But the AX cables typically ARE DIFFERENT than the other Corsair cables. The AX650/750/850 "Gold" PSUs have their own pin out. The AX760/860 Platinum are the same as AXi except for the 24-pin. Is there some kind of a pin out diagram showing the difference between the AX and AXi series connectors? I have an AX1200 with custom cables (custom in both sleeve color and length). Lookin at updating my PSU, but would like to not have to re-sleeve all of the cables if possible. But if all it takes is switching a few pins, I'm fine with that. Thanks. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7117/6924972518_22007e1b23_c.jpg
Corsair Employee jonnyguru Posted April 19, 2016 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 19, 2016 Updating your PSU to what? The AX1200 uses a Type 3 cable for the 24-pin, but all of the other connectors are unique to the AX1200. If you get an AXi, you'll need to switch out all of the cables. The 8-pins are pretty easy, though, since the polarity is just switched. AX1200: Type 3 (AXi, HXi and RM):
Vegan
I have a CS450M which uses the same type 3, but it has fixed 2x12 and EPS12V cables which is fine as all rigs need them. So my PSU has 3 of the peripheral power and only 1 of the PCI Express plugs.
