I hope its just normal, someone from some other forum is scaring me saying that its the CPU fan making the buzzing then eventually the his HX850 died. Since I'm a newbie I don't know how to differentiate between a possible electrical buzzing and fan buzzing, so how do I know its the electrical thing and not the fan? Thanks :)

Yesterday I bought a HX620. Before buying I was warned that in some configurations it can squeak throttles. I was not lucky. he whines, and not weak. turned off C1E and speedstep - did not help. Tell me how to get rid of a squeak, and no indication of whether there is a danger? Thanks in advance

PS: I'm from Russia, used the google translator

Oh how I wish I had come to the forum 3 weeks ago. I RMA'd my TX650 to the online retailer for the electronic noise. 2 1/2 weeks later I finally get another PSU only to have it do the same thing. So I figured I would come to the forum seeing if anyone else had this problem thinking it was some kind of manufacturing defect. Lo and behold its the top sticky and it fixed my problem. Live and learn. Always go to the manufacturer website first. Thanks Tbwotw

Haha.

Thanks so very much. I only registered to say cheers - i've just put together an i7 build (tonight), so imagine how rubbish I felt at the thought of sending one or more components back because of that bloody buzzing. It was sending me bonkers!

So simple.

Idle temps are a tiny bit hotter mind you, but that is easily fixed.

Thanks again

What if a customer has their PC on 24/7 and actually wants to use these power features on their motherboard? What advice does Corsair have?

My Corsair PSU is emitting an electrical "buzz" when using advanced power management, it is not functioning as a PSU should. I purchased this PSU to ensure ample power is available to components when required and that power is efficiently used when not needed.

I want to use C1E, C3/C6/C7 and EIST to minimise power usage when idle. What options do I have? I do not want to RMA this PSU only to be given an identical model which exhibits the exact same fault.

Let's get it replaced, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it. Be sure to check the box that says “I've already spoken to Technical Support and/or RAM Guy.”

Thanks for the response. But as I said above, I do not want an identical part that exhibits the exact same problem, it's a complete waste of your resources shipping out the replacement product and a waste of my time as I can assure you, I will be RMA'ing that as well.

What about offering me a Corsair PSU that functions without this issue? If the PSU is from another Corsair product line and you are unable to waive the price difference as a goodwill gesture then I would reluctantly pay any additional cost ontop of the value of the returned TX 750.

hey guys,

If you are still have a buzzing problem, try this:

if your PSU makes a buzzing noise everytime you move the mouse, then try to reduce the polling rate of your mouse. I had a razor deathadder and was able to reduce the polling rate from 500mhz -> 125mhz in their software. The noise is now gone! But it still buzzes when I run ATitool though; especially the rotating one.

yes. Honesty I can't tell the difference between 125mhz or 500mhz.

I just assembled a computer brought the HX-750 as my PSU (intel chip with ATI GPU) and when i first turned it on to check fans i noticed the buzzing noise right away after reading this forum i was about to try what the suggestion was so i pulled out a monitor. pluged the PSU and monitor into a power board and the buzzing stooped when the power was on. so i then took the power supply out of the power board and plugged it directly into the wall the buzzing came back (the power board inst a cheap power board) back into power board and it was gone again unsure why this is case but in case this helps others =D. Seems a few days later the buzzing noise came back all the suggestions in this threat wont get rid of it but it comes and goes its like on for a few hours then turns off for a dew hours.

PS. Im disleksic so sorry about my grammar etc.... also sorry if this has already been said.

Tried this. Didn't work. But thanks for the suggestion.

I agree with this man!
I have a HX850, 120-something quids worth of psu! This is the second one I've had, buzzes. I don't want to RMA it, just to find yet another one that buzzes, nor can I afford to upgrade to the HX1000 which is the only other psu I'd want. It's not that the PSU is causing problems with the running of my pc, it's just that 1) the buzz is annoying and 2) is the buzz caused by some underlying fault that is going to crop up and ruin the psu? (no doubt it'd happen once I've sleeved it or something)
Something needs sorting I think, the amount of people that seem to be having problems with the HX850 is quite staggering, and is honestly making me regret buying one...
