Hi,
I just wanted to say that this fixed the problem for me too, thanks a lot for posting the info. I'm still a bit unsure as whether or not to RMA the PSU though. I imagine I will have the same problem if they replace it, but then again if the PSU makes that noise with certain options enabled in the motherboard then surely that can't be good?

I have the same problem with my new pc too, search the net.
Looks like it only happen on ASUS P6T series and Gigabyte X58 line MB ony.
Am I correct?
Does anyone using EVGA X58 MB got this squeezing noise?

I have the P6T Deluxe v1 and a Corsair HX850 PSU. Mine Buzzes too. Turning the options off that were mentioned here did nothing.
Should I RMA my PSU?

I dun think is the PSU or the Videocard, coz I DID swap to ******** ******** 650W, same result, change my videocard to 260, same result.
That's why I guess is the MB problem. But I've found so many people complain about this problem with Asus and Gigabyte MB, I don't think RMA my MB will help.
But looks like no one complain this problem with EVGA MB......
I also did disable those setting suggested, no help, too.
If I run the ATI-Tools 3D box, noise is loud.

Mine makes a buzzing noise sometimes too and it's brand new! Why does sometimes when turning off the PC and On again it goes silent until next time? Is this a sign for a future kaboom??

According to JonnyGuru, the noise coming from my PSU is not normal. It is caused by transformers heating up and causing magnetorestriction that's causing the buzz. This may be due to a defective transformer, or probably loose windings.
He suggested I RMA my PSU. It is not likely to cause damage but it is not operating at peak efficiency.

It's driving me nuts too, and then I found this post. I'm a complete newbie and would like to know how to disable the CIE and ?? in the motherboard BIOS.

But I've tried with another brand PSU but same.
If yours DID stop with the RMA PSU, please please let me know that I can RMA mine to solve this very annoying problem

Well, I have a MSI X58 Platinum MB, i7 920 CPU, and a tx750 corsair powersupply. I shut off the C1E and the speed thing, but it didn't do a thing. I really don't know what to do from here, as people who have RMAed it, didn't solve the problem. anyone have any ideas?

I went to Best buy and bought a different company's PSU. I installed it and nothing has changed. Still the high-pitched sound. I give up.

Same as my case, I even change the Videocard. No help.
That's why the only thing I wonder is the MB. I google it, for sure Asus and Gigabyte have this problem. Now I know MSI, too.
I've built a system with EVGA MB, no such problem.
Does anyone using EVGA MB have this problem?
