Good luck! I hope you have better luck... I had 3 replacements fail on me with the same pump issue so hopefully you have better luck.

received the new h70. day 1. quiet so far.

we'll so how day 2 goes. that's when it started last time.

hi yall,

day 3 and all i well. just the nice little buzz that you have to get close to hear.

here are some of my observations when i adjust the speed via my smart fan control in the bios.

the old h70 core that i returned ran at 1300-1800 rpms. made lots of noise.

the new h70 core that i got runs 900-1400 rpms. nice and quiet except if i run it at 900. has an odd sound then. so i just keep it at 1400.

just fyi.

i have pwm disabled so it runs at a constant speed. stays quiet even when running prime95 at 4.5ghz on my 2500K

the core temps are all below 70c. the package temp hits 71c.

but, i'm upgrading my motherboard. my current gigabyte z68-ud3 requires more tweaking and voltage than i would like to run at 4.5.

i found a z68-ud5 for a steal. has 20 power phases verses the 7 on the ud3.

i guess that's better. more is better, right? maybe we'll try a little more serious oc.

and, still quiet. loving it.
