Default No Post - VS512MB400

NF7-S Mobo.......So why doesn't it post?
Btw, I knew I was in trouble when I saw that 'ValueSelect' on the package. Whoever dreamed that up, and/or approved it should be fired. Gives a VERY BAD image to Corsair fwiw. On the other hand, it alerts people that they are cutting corners in production to max the bottom line I guess.......Has the company been sold recently to where the new mgmt doesn't care much anymore?........Bought 2 sticks from NewEgg.......Both DOA apparently.

You made the choice to buy them.......
I assume your CPU has a 400 FSB?
Did you try them one at a time? ( The VS1GBKIT400 is a matched set).
Make sure the voltage is at 2.6 and the timings are 2.5-3-3-8.

Hey CMC long time to chat nice to see you been awhile.

zardiw,
There has to be some other issue it would be close to impossible that both modules would be DOA. I would as CMC Savage suggested test them one at a time and you might have to reset the BIOS with just one module installed.
Also remember with that MB the memory frequency must set to 1-1 with the CPU FSB.

I did try them one at a time. Also tried them in combo with an existing stick..........but I found out that they are incompatible with my NF7-S board........would have been nice to know b4 I ordered them from NewEgg (since RMA'd) ........They should have a list of incompatible MoBo's on their description.......in big red letters so people don't miss it.......Have since got some ********.......Mem86 says they're OK........and it booted....lol........z

Too funny. Corsair told me. And my point is that even you didn't know this...i.e. any NF7-S owners that bought this memory are cryin the blues:

** IMPORTANT NOTE ** For maximum system stability, Corsair recommends the use of XMS memory ONLY with nForce 2 motherboards. Value Select memory is NOT RECOMMENDED.

The NF7-S, based on nForce2 chipset (MCP-T + SPP), supports the latest AMD Athlon XP processors with 200/266/333/400 FSB, (400 FSB support in version 2.0 only) and features new dual 400MHz DDR memory controllers that deliver up to a 50% increase in bandwidth. With the nForce2 MCP-T, the APU (Audio Processing Unit) delivers Dolby Digital 5.1 cinematic-quality sound and 3D positional audio to your home PC. By SoundstormTM technology, the NF7-S supports Real-time audio encoding delivering up to 256 simultaneous audio streams makes games and applications come to life. With cutting-edge features and ABIT Engineering, the NF7 series is the ultimate multimedia platform for the world.

And I bought the 1G set, not the 2G set
