Question Are 6400 and 6400C4 Ram compatible

In the same rig? See attached sig for sys specs.

Another person got telling me that I shouldn't run CMS2X1024 - 6400 & CMS2X1024 - 6400C4 modules on the same rig. I've never had ANY problems with this rig UNTIL I took out the E6700 that was stock with the machine, and put in an E8400.

And one last question, which of the two sets are better ram?

With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.2 Volts as well and test the system with www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.

thanks for taking the time to get back to me. The problem (if there was ever one with the ram) has sorted itself out....

I went out to NCIX and bought CM2X2048-6400C5. There all better now.

Thanks again for taking the time to get back to me.
