miniSD ...please help, i'm dumb..

yeah.. i really am.
so i bought a 2 gb mini sd for my nokia 6265i phone and it works on the computer fine but when i put it in the phone it says 'unformatted' and won't let me open anything on the card..
does anyone know anything about this? i don't even know what my stupid phone means by unformatted and i have NO idea how to fix it...

Your phone needs to "format" or recognize the card for it to work.
If you have any data on the card, save it to your computer.
Let the phone format the card then you should be good to go.
Transfer the saved data after the format.
Just like a hard drive, formatting erases all save data.

thanks.. that's good advice and all, buutt... i don't know how to let my phone format it.. it doesn't do anything at all when i put it in, so i'm totally lost...

You will probably need to use a Windows machaine with a card reader or check the controls on the phone there shopuld be an option to format the card!

Tonight I too purchased a mini sd card. Works fine in my pc and camera but my Nokia 6265i will not recognize the memory. No options to format it are available in the phone. I can format the card in my PC but it doesn' help for phone use. Any ideas?

Some phones may not recognize cards larger than 1GB. You might want to contact your phone support team to make sure it supports 2GB card.
