I was playing games at 4k on a 970 and it was ok most of the time, but there were tradeoffs like lesser shadow quality, reflections, no anti-aliasing (not that I think it's needed at 4k) and so on....

It's working now. Did a complete uninstall of everything corsair related and reinstalled from scratch.

More feedback on Corsair Link; It doesn't remember window size or position when it's shutdown...

Windows device manager still shows the USB driver as installed ok. But the fan is not showing RPM. Had the same problem when I installed the really old version. A reinstall of the USB driver fixed it...

Access to the vid card screws is partly because of the case design and partly the cards. I had no problems with the old 7970 because it was relatively shallow. The 1070 is much taller (bigger cooler)...

People have been overstating the requirements for PSUs for years now. I think some of that is a side effect of lousy brands where you had a heap of fluctuation - especially as you started ramping up...
