Forum Rules!

Recommended Posts

  • Corsair Employees

Note that all members of this forum are redirected here to ensure that you are aware of the rules if and when they are updated.

If you have any questions about these rules, please do not hesitate to contact myself or any other staff member.

You can ask questions / discuss these rules HERE.

We have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for any type of hate speech including but not limited to insults or bashing of people using language regarding race, color, creed, nationality, sexual orientation, etc. If you are not sure if it's allowed, don't post it here. There will be no warnings for this sort of violation. Violators will be permanently banned.

  1. READ THE RULES.
Everyone is redirected to this thread at least once, whether it's right after their account is created, or when the rules are updated, so no one can say they didn't know. Ignorance is not an excuse. Most of these rules are common sense anyway.

These rules can be edited / clarified at any time without prior notice. If significant changes are made, I'll do another redirect to this thread.

  2. SYSTEM SPECS
Upon registering with this site, you will be asked to enter in your system specs into your profile. You can also go to your UserCP and edit your system specs at any time. When you save these specs to your profile, they will automatically appear in a dropdown above all of your posts, as well as in your public member profile. It is HIGHLY recommended that you do this, as there's a good chance you'll be asked for this information in a thread. Please do NOT post this information in your posts (or signature) if it is already in your profile. An exception to this is when you post about a different system of course.

  3. ALL YOUR INFO ARE BELONG TO US
Any and all information (threads / posts / PMs / images) submitted to this site by members on this forum are considered to be property of said forum. As such, we reserve the right to edit any and all information for clarity or other violations of the rules. 99% of staff edits to public posts / profiles are normally to clarify information by replacing generic part descriptions with the actual part #, or to move system specs to profiles. Any and all edits are also logged. We also reserve the right to merge posts / threads at any time. We also reserve the right to observe PMs / emails sent through this forum to protect ourselves and our members.

Also, please do not post any copyrighted material here. This includes undocumented quotes / articles from articles. If you feel that a quote from a knowledgebase article can help someone, please surround the quote in the appropriate BBCODE, and reference the source.

  4. POST DESCRIPTIVE TITLES...
Please use descriptive titles when making a new thread that relates to technical issues. HEEEAAAAAALLLPPP!!!!!! or WTFBBQ doesn't really describe the problem, nor does it attract readers to your thread. The same goes for posting styles. Please use full and complete sentences when going through the troubleshooting process. Having said that, if it's NOT a technical post, go for it. Just expect a WTFDUJS, WTFBBQ, or a ROFLMFFAOWPIMP as a response :)

  5. DO NOT GO AROUND THE FILTERS.
The filters currently block any text that match the following conditions:
    • vulgar language (see rules # 6, 7, 8)
    • spam (see rules # 13, 14)
    • competitor's names (see rules # 9, 13, 14)
    • variations of the above conditions

[*]KEEP IT CLEAN

Any post/thread that we deem inappropriate for family viewing will be dealt with accordingly. If you have any questions about actions taken against a post/thread please PM the appropriate forum's Moderator(s) and/or the forum admins. Please remember that this is a family-oriented message board. All rules violations will be dealt with swiftly, up to and including making your membership in this forum come to an abrupt end. We reserve the right to edit/delete posts/threads at our discretion.

[*]NO SWEARING.

Please refrain from using any vulgar language that would offend someone else. Shortcuts to vulgar language do not constitute “not swearing”.

[*]NO PERSONAL INSULTS/ABUSE.

This site is provided to you for free, and you are free to disagree with other posters, but if you stoop to personal abuse or attacks, your post(s) will be deleted. If you ARE insulted then report the post – PLEASE do NOT retaliate. If you DO retaliate then you are no better than the abuser and you too will be treated as an abuser as stated above. Retaliation by anyone against another is in no way showing any respect for yourself, the person who offended you, nor the rest of the readers of the forums.

[*]NO DISCUSSION OF COMPETITORS.

This forum is here for the express purpose of supporting current and future users of Corsair products. Please do not discuss competing products or their suppliers by name on this forum, either in a positive light or a negative one. Such posts or threads will be edited or deleted at our discretion. Please contact the makers of that product for help. As stated above, their names are filtered out from public view.

If you have questions about non-Corsair products that do not compete with Corsair (e.g. operating system, routers, video cards, etc.), please post in the appropriate sub-forums. Start out with the Hardware Related and Software Related (Non Corsair Questions) areas. Note that Corsair employees do not monitor these areas, but they will move posts / threads to them from the Corsair areas if needed. If you see a post in the wrong area, please report it so that it may be moved to the correct location.

[*]NO REPEAT POSTS.

If no-one answers your question, bump it (only once every 24 hours) rather than posting it again. Please don't post the same question in every forum. If necessary, a staff member will move it to the appropriate area. If you think a post is in not in the right area, please post this in the thread, or PM an administrator for it to be moved, or better yet, hit the Report button to bring it to the attention of the staff. It is useless to bump a post made after Corsair's business hours if they have not even seen your post yet. Reading the same thing over and over again is the best way to annoy people and the worst way to get answers.

[*]NO ILLEGAL SUGGESTIONS.

Please no pointers, links, how-to’s, or advocating etc. of any illegal activity, including (but not restricted to) Warez, cloning of copyright software etc. These are our rules, but there are laws and punishment in almost EVERY country regarding this issue. Even if it is legal in your country, it's not legal in other countries.

[*]NO PR0N.

Please, no pornographic material or pointers to it. For those that don’t know what PR0N stands for, switch the “R” and “0” around and you will understand.

[*]NO SPAM OR PIMPING.

This refers to the use of this site as a redirector or gateway to another site for the purpose of collecting click income or advertising. Although there are times when a link to another site is necessary for helping or answering a question, this site reserves the right to determine what is and is not SPAM or PIMPING. Proactive measures are in place to stop most spammers from even being able to register here, but if you somehow get through... well, you've been warned :)

[*]NO BUYING / SELLING / TRADING PRODUCTS.

This site is here purely for the support of Corsair products. If you advertise any sales of any type of product (that you would profit from, including direct trading / bartering) via any communication method allowed by this forum (this includes, but not limited to: posts, threads, PMs, links, and/or direct emails from the forum), you will be warned and/or banned at the forum staff's discretion.

[*]ONE ACCOUNT PER PERSON.

If it is found out that you have multiple accounts here, they will all be suspended until we resolve which ones to keep / get rid of. In most (but not all) cases, the accounts will be merged into the oldest account. If you cannot access your account, please contact us and we will look into the matter and help you to resolve it.

[*]REPORTING VIOLATIONS OF THE RULES

If you believe that any post is in violation of any of these rules, feel free to hit the Report Post button located just above the post in the top right corner.

*Some of the preceding verbiage was used with the express permission of Ryan Shrout, owner of AMDMB.com.

[*]SIGNATURE ACCESS REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF 10 POSTS

This is to prevent spammers from joining the forum for advertising purposes.

[*]REGISTER WITH A VALID / PERMANENT EMAIL ADDRESS

You can ask questions / discuss these rules HERE.
