  1. Dear forum, several weeks ago I have bought myself a new PC configuration. Here's the PC build specs: Asus Z790-A Wi-Fi MBO Intel i5-13600K CPU Corsair Vengeance 2x16GB DDR5 5600MHz WD 500GB SSD BLACK SN850 M.2 NVMe x4 Gen4 Corsair RM650x PSU MSI Radeon RX570 graphics card Fractal Define 7 Compact case Scythe Mugen Black CPU cooler My GPU is set to 59fps max and fans on the card are very silent, running less than 1000 rpm when gaming. I have an issue with the Corsair PSU, I can hear a rattling sound or a diesel car sound coming from the PSU fan. This PC configuration is inaudible during work (home office, browsing, watching video etc.) since the PSU fan is OFF. Once I start gaming and the PSU needs more power I can hear that rattling sound coming from the PSU until the fan shuts down. The Corsair support instructed me to tighten screws on the PSU, which of course didn't help as the screws are already tightened. The issue here is definitely the PSU. It is worth mentioning that 2 years ago I have also bought a new PC configuration with Corsair RM650W PSU which is very silent even at load. This time I ate the marketing talk and decided to go for a Corsair PSU with even better components than RM and a magnetic levitation fan. It appears that I should have bought the RM650 version instead. Attached you may find recording I made with my mobile phone. It's not a high quality sound, but you'll hear what needs to be heard to get the idea. I would also like to say that this PC is very stable and it's only the CPU fan that's faulty in this config. Is anyone else having this issue with mentioned PSU? Can I do something to fix this or I can RMA this thing? P. S. I am huge fan and long time customer of Corsair PSU and Memory products and hold to that firmly for all of my PC builds and this is the first time I've had an issue like this. Thanks in advance! https://easyupload.io/mutj8s https://easyupload.io/7tcjjc
  2. After six months of occasional bug check freezes I've finally found the culprit of the issue for the following error: On Sat 16-Jan-21 16:01:23 your computer crashed or a problem was reported crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\011621-7406-01.dmp This was probably caused by the following module: amdkmdag.sys (0xFFFFF8053C23BA43) Bugcheck code: 0x50 (0xFFFFA98050346F12, 0x2, 0xFFFFF8053C23BA43, 0x2) Error: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA file path: C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\u0361901.inf_amd64_204a65b18f2a904a\B361909\amdkmdag.sys product: ATI Radeon Family company: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. description: ATI Radeon Kernel Mode Driver Bug check description: This indicates that invalid system memory has been referenced. This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem. A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: amdkmdag.sys (ATI Radeon Kernel Mode Driver, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.). Google query: amdkmdag.sys Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA My system freezes each time I've run the OCCT stress test and once I have disabled the XMP profile in BIOS the OCCT stress test went without issues. So, who's to blame here. Asus Prime Z490-P motherboard or Corsair VENGEANCE LPX 16 GB kit(2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3600MHz PC4-28800 CL18, 1.2V / 1.35V, CMK16GX4M2D3600C18 If I want a stable system I should disable the XMP profile, but that's not what I've payed for.
  3. Hi again, I was just playing world of tanks and during the map loading the system froze and it restarted with the same bug check code: BTW, is it possible that the memory is faulty even though it passed memtest 2 times with 4 passes? ================================================== Dump File : 120620-5906-01.dmp Crash Time : 06-Dec-20 19:45:51 Bug Check String : PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA Bug Check Code : 0x00000050 Parameter 1 : ffffd601`d5b02122 Parameter 2 : 00000000`00000002 Parameter 3 : fffff807`43edba43 Parameter 4 : 00000000`00000002 Caused By Driver : ntoskrnl.exe Caused By Address : ntoskrnl.exe+3f5780 File Description : NT Kernel & System Product Name : Microsoft® Windows® Operating System Company : Microsoft Corporation File Version : 10.0.19041.662 (WinBuild.160101.0800) Processor : x64 Crash Address : ntoskrnl.exe+3f5780 Stack Address 1 : Stack Address 2 : Stack Address 3 : Computer Name : Full Path : C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\120620-5906-01.dmp Processors Count : 12 Major Version : 15 Minor Version : 19041 Dump File Size : 2,529,892 Dump File Time : 06-Dec-20 19:46:18 ==================================================
  4. Dear forum, I still have bugcheck issues, even after I have upgraded to the latest Windows 10 20H2 version, I have also updated BIOS for my Asus Prime Z490-P Motherboard but without luck. I have recently got 2 freezes in a day, but also have a running PC (using standby mode once I don't use it) for 20+ days without restarts. The dump always shows the same error that points to memory even though I seriously doubt these are faulty sticks as memtest shows no errors, but since this is my Home Office PC it is very frustrating I kindly ask for help and advice on what to do.
  5. Well, my whole setup is ultra-quiet and you can hear the PSU fan, but once it's off you can't hear anything even from a few centimeters.
  6. Dear community, recently I have bought a new PC configuration and I have a question regarding my Corsair 650W RM650 Fully modular PSU. I've noticed that this PSU makes a click once the PC turns ON/OFF or resume/goes to standby. I presumed and confirmed online that this behavior is by default. Most of our power supply units (PSUs) have an inrush current bypass relay that makes a *click* noise when the PC turns on and off. This is considered normal and not a defect. What I have also noticed is that it also makes after 5-10 minutes after I start to play a game. Is that also normal? What is happening inside the PSU at this point? Thanks, Nik

  8. I have made two memtests with 4 passes and with XMP profile enabled in BIOS and both times memory tests were without errors. I own this memory: https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/Categories/Products/Memory/VENGEANCE-LPX/p/CMK16GX4M2D3600C18#tab-tech-specs Since the BIOS update I had only one freeze but it was different that first 4 bugcheck freezes. Anyway, Asus support still doesn't want to help until I buy the memory from the QVL for that board. Anyway I'm considering to buy the memory from the ASUS QVL for my board Asus Prime Z-490P which is: https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/Categories/Products/Memory/VENGEANCE-LPX/p/CMK16GX4M2B3200C16#tab-tech-specs My question is is there any difference between these two RAM modules except from the speed and latency, but I presume I wouldn't tell the difference. And should I sell the 3600mhz memory and buy the 3200mhz so I can get the support from Asus? VENGEANCE® LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16 Memory Kit - Black VENGEANCE® LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3600MHz C18 Memory Kit - Black What's even more strange is that after the bios update almost a month ago I had only one freeze during work and I'm in a home office and occasionally playing games on this PC so its on for at least 10-12 hours per day. I've just discovered another nonsense from Asus. I might buy the new memory kit that is supported like CMK16GX4M2B3200C16, but Asus supports only Ver4.24 of that kit, if I get 5.x that's not on the list ffs. BR, Nik
  9. Hey Art, thanks for your reply. Well, I will follow your advice since Asus support doesn't want to help considering I am not using memory from its QVL. They advise I should replace the memory with the one on the Asus QVL for that Motherboard. Also, I have just received an answer from Corsair support stating that the memory is probably fine since I've managed to perform 4 passes with Memtest and with XMP enabled. Judging by the attached screenshot of the dump do you think the problem could be related to memory or a fault driver? So, what does this mean? Will I be able to replace the memory if your 2 suggestions won't work? If the problem really lies in memory kit, I'd rather exhange it with you online considering I'll wait for ages until I get a replacement from the local hardware store where I have bought it. I would also like to mention that this is my new work PC that is used for Home Office due to Covid-19 crisis. It's rather frustrating when the joy of having a new machine is being supressed with the stress caused by random freezes. Thanks again for your help. Br, Nik
  10. Dear community. Before I buy a new memory kit I would like to hear your opinion on issues that I have with my new PC build. The new PC build specs: Asus Prime Z490-P MBO Intel Core i5-10600 CPU - On Asus QVL list Corsair VENGEANCE LPX 16 GB kit(2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3600MHz PC4-28800 CL18, 1.2V / 1.35V, CMK16GX4M2D3600C18 - NOT on Asus QVL list SSD Crucial P1 500GB 3D NAND NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD Corsair 650W PSU - RM650 Fully modular MSI Armor RX570 graphic card Since I have bought a new PC configuration I had 4 BUGCHECK errors where Windows froze and have restarted after a couple of seconds. As you can see this is happening randomly and can't find the cause of it, although I suspect at BIOS, Chipset drivers, or memory. Please check the attached picture from BlueScreenview. After the last Bugcheck and restart I have noticed there's new version of BIOS available for the Asus Prime Z490-P motherboard so I have installed it (v1208). Even though it's almost a week from the last bugcheck I can't say that this issue is yet solved with the latest bios update, but I had another similar issue after that update. A couple of days ago I was working on my external Toshiba USB drive and after about 30 minutes of work, the computer froze and have restarted after 30-40 seconds. After this crash, a dump was not saved and I could only check for the system log that said:WHEA-Logger: A fatal hardware error has occurred. (Please check the attached picture). I'm not sure if that's the cause of the crash since this log was created after the PC booted up again and the external disk was still plugged in. Also, I couldn't find any detailed information about this event. I am also using the XMP profile set in BIOS for the memory specified above I am using the latest available chipset drivers from the Asus website. I have also contacted ASUS and Corsair support where Asus pointed me to use the memory kit from the QVL list in order to get help and Corsair support said I should test both memory sticks individually with Memtest. After the first bugcheck I have tested both sticks with 4 passes (default-test) and while I had the XMP profile set in BIOS. Everything went without a single error. I haven't had these issues in my pc configurations for as long as I can remember. Just to mention I am working in the IT industry I am always using Asus MBO, Corsair memory, Corsair PSU, and Intel CPU's for my PC configurations and I firmly stick to this combo. I would kindly ask you for help and advice and if you need any more information please let me know and I will update this post. As a last resort I would probably have to buy this memory as it is listed on Asus QVL list for my MBO: DDR4 16GB (2x8) Corsair 3200MHz LPX Black CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 I also presume that I shouldn't notice any performance drops from switching to 3200MHz memory with lower latency. Thanks in advance!
