So a couple days ago, i did a major test of the ram in MemTest (http://hcidesign.com/memtest/) and it was coming out with a couple errors after a few passes. This was done in normal and in safe mode. Afterwards I burnt a copy of MemTest86+ and had it run for a day+. After 8 passes, it came out clean though. Is it fair to rule out the ram, but the os, as the issue and if so, would you have any idea what it could be in particular?

If you are getting errors from an application in Windows that suggests memory is at fault but do not get errors in a program like www.memtest.org that would suggest a few possible issues one of which is Windows it self or some other hardware/Driver issue in your system. Try setting the memory Voltage to 1,55- 1.6 Volts and retest.
